Description

Latin Name: Camelia Sinensis

Origin Country: Sri Lanka

Camellia sinensis is an evergreen shrub or small tree native to East Asia, particularly China and India, and is the source of all true teas, including green, black, white, oolong, and pu-erh tea.

Black tea is a fully oxidized tea derived from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. It is one of the most consumed types of tea worldwide, known for its bold flavour, dark colour, and rich aroma. It undergoes a complete oxidation process, which enhances its robust taste and increase the beneficial levels.

Ceylon teas are tightly rolled, black or golden brown in leaf colour. Due to their flavour stability, they are ideal for basic blends for flavouring. Black tea contains caffeine, which makes it a great alternative for those, that not prefer coffee.

Ceylon Pekoe black tea is known for its bright, brisk, and full-bodied flavour with a refreshing and slightly citrusy undertone. Ceylon Pekoe is excellent on its own or with milk, honey, or lemon, enhancing its naturally refreshing taste.
