Stevia rebaudiana is a plant native to South America, particularly in Paraguay and Brazil. It belongs to the Asteraceae family, which is the same family as daisies and sunflowers.
Stevia has been used for centuries by the Guarani people. They called it “ka’a he’ê,” which means “sweet herb.” It was traditionally used to sweeten food and drinks.
Rebaudioside A is a highly refined compound extracted from the leaves of the Stevia plant. It is one of the major sweetening compounds found in stevia and is often used as a natural sweetener.
Our Rebaudioside A powder is standardized to contain at least 98% purity and has a sweet, clean taste, with no undesirable features or unpleasant after taste.
In order to produce the crystal stevia, firstly, must harvested and dried the stevia leaves. The leaves are extracted using water to separate the sweet compounds. Then, Rebaudioside A is purified and concentrated to achieve the 98% purity level. The final product is a white, crystalline powder that can be used as a sweetener.
– Hot/Iced Coffee
Brew your coffee as usual and add a pinch or ⅛ teaspoon of crystal stevia. Stir well until fully dissolved. It is recommended to add milk, plant-based milk, or flavoured syrups for extra richness.
– Hot Tea
Boil 1 cup (240 ml) of water per 1 teaspoon (2-3g) of loose tea and let it steep for 3-5 minutes. Add a small amount (⅛ teaspoon) of crystal stevia and stir. Taste and adjust sweetness. Add lemon, ginger, cinnamon, or milk for extra flavour.
– Tips
Start with a tiny amount and adjust as stevia is much sweeter than sugar.
Pair with flavours like vanilla, cinnamon, or cocoa for extra depth.
– Cooking Sauces & Dressings
Crystal stevia works well in salad dressings, sauces, marinades, and syrups. Dissolves best in warm liquids.
Storage: To store Crystal Stevia Extract (1:10 Sweetness Ratio, Reb A Purity = 98%), keep it in a tightly sealed, airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity. Exposure to moisture can cause clumping or degrade its sweetness over time, so avoid storing it near the stove or sink, and do not refrigerate unless specified by the manufacturer.
