Description

Latin Name: Hippophae Rhamnoides L.

Origin Country: Serbia

Hippophae rhamnoides L., commonly known as sea buckthorn, is a deciduous shrub belonging to the Elaeagnaceae family. Native to Europe and Asia, this hardy plant is characterized by its silvery-green leaves and bright orange or yellow berries. More specifically, our sea buckthorn berries are osmotic, contain concentrated apple juice and are sugar and preservative-free. Osmosis is the process of dehydrating natural fruits, through which heat treatment is avoided and their original structure is not broken down, keeping the valuable components of the fruit intact. Sea buckthorn is a super fruit that is also used for jellies, juices, purees and sauces. They are eaten raw as a snack or you can combine them with muesli or yogurt.

Osmosis-dried Sea Buckthorn has a flavour that lies somewhere between a tart lemon and a sweet apricot, refreshing the taste buds in all directions. Sea Buckthorn has an apple-like aroma similar to cider.
