Manjistha Tea:

Natural Dye
In a large pot, add about 1/4 cup of chopped manjistha root to 4 cups of water. Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 30-60 minutes. The water will turn a deep red or orange colour. After simmering, strain out the root material from the dye liquid.
While the dye bath is still warm, add your pre-mordanted fabric. Ensure the fabric is fully submerged in the dye. Let the fabric simmer in the dye for 30-60 minutes, or until you achieve the desired colour. The longer you leave it in, the deeper and more vibrant the colour will be.
