To make an infusion, place 1-2 teaspoons of dried herb in a tea infuser or teapot or mug for each cup of tea you intend to brew. Cover with boiling water. Place on the lid (or cover your cup with a saucer). Allow the mixture to steep for 10' to 15' minutes or overnight. Then strain the tea and serve. Drink 1-3 cups of tea a day. Add if you want honey for flavour. Externally it helps to antiseptic wounds. Decoction of marjoram in bath water soothes and tones (boil 100g of marjoram in 1 liter of water). Marjoram is popular in Mediterranean and North American cookery. Add to vegetables, tomato-based dishes, stuffings, forcemeats, sausages, preserved meats, game, poultry and pulses.

Marjoram is POSSIBLY UNSAFE when used long-term or when applied to the eye or skin as fresh marjoram. There is some evidence that marjoram could cause cancer if used long-term.
