Teucrium has a pleasant aroma but bitter taste. In manufacturing, germander is used as a flavoring in alcoholic beverages.

It is also used as a mouthwash to freshen the breath.

Germander is taken for treating gallbladder conditions, fever, stomach aches, and mild diarrhea.

Germander is a specific for the treatment of gout, it is also used for its diuretic properties, and as a treatment for weak stomachs and lack of appetite.

It has also been taken as an aid to weight loss and is a common ingredient in tonic wines.

Prepared as a decoction. In a cup of boiling water, put one tablespoon of the herb for one hour. Strain and drink a cup of tea three times a day before eating.

You should consult a specialist before take germander. Overdose and long-term use may cause hepatotoxicity. Pregnant and breast-feeding women should not consume germander.
